I imagine that big companies launch new products after months of market research, customer panels, and probably a whole lot of presentations.
The idea started with a simple admission that, despite our regular workouts, our lives have been confined to a single direction—forward and backward.
Exercises like squats, pull-ups, lunges, deadlifts, and presses are all great movements, but they all primarily involve motion in a direction called the sagittal plane.
However, in life and sport, we don’t work in straight lines; rather, our bodies move through three planes of motion:

Obviously, we tend to omit the frontal plane, but the transverse motion, where rotation lives, is the neglect that really causes our body to suffer.
That’s because our need to generate power in life isn’t usually confined to simply moving weight up and down. Instead, it’s created by coordinating movement through each of these planes and occurs via a connection that transfers momentum starting from your feet and extending to your hands.
Whether you’re throwing a football, swinging a golf club, or just hauling something heavy, you need strength and coordination to do that well and without pain or stiffness.
The TORQ program was designed to bridge that missing link in our training.
You can certainly do other things to regain this lost motion. Some of my favorites include med-ball throws, landmine training, and lifting heavy stones, and I still plan to incorporate these exercises whenever possible into my workouts.
The problem is that these things have constraints that can make it difficult to squeeze them into a workout plan. Whereas the TORQ bands and program are an easy-to-use, grab-and-go implementation that can be added daily, just like the other Crossover Symmetry programs.
We are currently offering a pre-order on our
TORQ System with a $50 discount.
It includes our
- TORQ Handle,
- 3 Long Resistance Bands (use solo or stacked),
- Our full program (currently free in the Training Zone).
I hope you’ll try it. I think it’s the perfect addition to the Shoulder and Hip & Core programs, for a lifetime of pain-free movement.
